SOCIAL INNOVATION
RESISTIRÉ examined how COVID-19 policies and societal responses affected gendered and intersectional inequalities across Europe.
Across three cycles of research and co-creation, evidence was translated into action ideas, policy recommendations, pilot initiatives and priorities for future research.
Yellow Window led the development of the project’s Open Studio approach, creating a participatory process for exploring research findings with policymakers, civil society, researchers and other experts and developing possible responses.

The approach produced workshops in short cycles of 6-8 months after which actionable solutions are proposed in the form of recommendations to policy-makers (and other stakeholders); pilot projects (piloting social innovations) and research agendas to further increase knowledge on the impact of policies on inequalities.

Participants are a mix of team members of the project and invited participants. Internal participants bring in the insights from the project activities, external participants bring in their expertise and creativity. The target is to have eight external participants in each Open Studio. They are identified because of their involvement with the theme of the Open Studio and can come from civil society organisations, can be policy-makers, researchers, user-experts or more creative profiles like artists.
