VIRTUAL REALITY

Siemens Mobility answered a call to tender for light rail vehicles in Bremen, Germany in 2016. Tricon was responsible for the target design on the side of the operator (BSAG), and Siemens selected us to provide the translation on the base of our platform: The Avenio. A conceptual design guide was provided that required a careful translation in order to answer the ambition of the operator while answering technical concerns of the manufacturer.

"Future-oriented and inviting."

The Red Dot Jury

Siemens won the tender with our customized Avenio in 2017. On the exterior, the design of Tricon was translated to emphasize its agility and slimness with panoramic windows and filigree A-pillars. In adapting the design to manufacturing realities, we translated a “future-oriented and inviting” appearance, as noted by the Red Dot jury. It won the Red Dot in 2021, and an IF award in 2022.

On the interior, the different seating configurations requested by the operator were realized for maximum passenger utility. Upholstered seats alternate with wooden seats throughout, and in the rear of the vehicle, a lounge-style seating area invites larger groups to enjoy a trip together.

The vehicles were delivered between 2020 & 2025, and contribute not just to a modernized brand expression from the operator, but also a positive passenger experience.
